Blog Post #2: Assimilation

 Assimilation is the act of changing aspects of one's identity, including cultural identity, to fit societal standards. eg.Cultural assimilation when an ethnic minority sacrifices its own culture to integrate into society.Assimilation may affect students buy them hiding certain parts of their culture and their identity to be more their friends and their parents/guardian.Some students may try to assimilate by  taking on trying different culture and some things they may see their friends doing.Richmond hill and Beachwood are similar because they both takes pride in diversity and acceptance.Some students may try to combat assimilation because there friends may be in a different culture and they may want to try it.The history of Assimilation,doesnt affect me in any way because thats what they believe in and you cant fight for what someone believe in.
